The Tri-Cities

Welcome to Tri-Cities, WA, (Richland/Kennewick/Pasco) a growing metropolitan area in southeast Washington where 300 sun filled days offer visitors a year round outdoor paradise.

Fun in the sun is a way of life in the Tri-Cities–one reason it’s among of the most popular spots for Washington vacations. Recreation and sports enthusiasts will love everything there is to do in Tri-Cities, including bicycling, bowling, hunting, and soccer, as well as fishing, water-skiing and paddling on the Columbia, Snake, and Yakima rivers. The area’s ten beautiful golf courses challenge the most experienced players, but can be enjoyed by beginners as well. After savoring just one of the local premium wines, visitors will understand why the area has been rightfully called the “Heart of Washington Wine Country.” Tri-Cities, Washington boasts more than 200 wineries within a 50-mile radius, producing some of the finest wines in the world, thanks to the climate and geography of the area.

Richland is ranked number one on the list of “Most Relaxed Small Cities” as determined by the Movoto Real Estate Blog. With miles of Columbia River shoreline, delicious food in numerous riverside restaurants, and 30 miles of paved trails good for running and biking, Richland is a very cool place to unwind and the selection of nice hotels in Richland, WA means you’ll find plenty of excellent places to stay. Relaxed should not be confused with “sleepy” however. Richland is home to Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, Washington State University – Tri-Cities including the Ste. Michelle Wine Estates WSU Wine Science Center, and has recently been named as one of three historic sites dedicated as the Manhattan Project National Historical Park. Hanford and the B Reactor are two more popular reasons why visitors seek out Richland.

Travel

The Tri-Cities is centrally located among all of the metropolitan areas of the Pacific Northwest including Seattle, Tacoma, Vancouver, and Spokane in Washington; Portland, Oregon and Boise, Idaho. The average drive time from most of these cities is 3.5 hours by car.

The Tri-Cities is also accessible by bus, train and both private and commercial air travel. The Tri-Cities Airport (PSC) in Pasco offers dozens of flights daily. Commercial airlines offer direct flights from Seattle, Portland, Salt Lake City, Denver, San Francisco, Phoenix/Mesa Arizona, Minneapolis and Las Vegas. Airline carriers include Alaska Airlines (Horizon), Delta Airlines, United Express and Allegiant Air.
